Description

Think of something you want to learn more about. It can relate to something in this competency, in another competency you are looking forward to taking, or anything of interest. Then, find a brief podcast or video clip about it. Be sure it’s a reputable source. One of the best resources to determine a reputable source is the CRAAP test developed by California State University, Chico. You will also learn much more about this topic in the Information Literacy Competencies A and B.As you listen, for the first half (check the length of the “lesson” first), use one note-taking method, and for the second half use another note-taking method. You may use the Cornell method, the Outline method, or another specific method system you found in your online research. Then in 3 paragraphs, explain what you watched or listened to (include the link), why you chose it, what the length was, and discuss your experience using the two different methods. What worked well for each? What did not work well? How did this experience give you insight as to how you wish to take notes in the future?
