Topic: Does social media use impact adolescent development?
Thesis: This paper examines the various effects of social media on youth development, including psychological, social, and cognitive aspects. A synthesis of empirical research examines how social media influences youth personality development, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, and mental processes.
Reason I chose this topic: The reason I chose this topic is to discuss the benefits of social media use and the potential dangers as well. I plan to discuss the positive influences of social media. I also plan to discuss some of the risks adolescents might face due to the overuse or misuse of social platforms.
