MORE EXPLANATIONS FOR 1η JOB FINAL DATE OF
SUBMISSION – 26/1/2024
PART ONE: = 2,500 – 3,000 WORDS
The answers to the individual questions will make up your pedagogical philosophy.
You can title it “PEDAGOGICAL PHILOSOPHY” and start by answering the questions (about one
or two paragraphs each, about 300 words for each question) and summarizing at the end
(another paragraph – 300 words) to make your ideas clear to the reader.
You can also answer the questions by putting each question as a subtitle and at the end in a
long paragraph you can consolidate them and write the
YOUR PEDAGOGICAL PHILOSOPHY.
In any case, the questions guide you to formulate your personal philosophy and the person
reading your text should understand what theories (literature support) you have been
influenced by and what your beliefs are.
You can write TO FIRST PERSON.
You will write your personal opinion but you must reflect on ‘who’, ‘what’ has influenced
you and that is why you need bibliographical references.
The bibliographic references and rules are in the e-class but you have some instructions
in the thesis guide on the department website (in the section on plagiarism and on page
54) : https://ecec.uniwa.gr/wpcontent/uploads/sites/78/2022/09/%CE%9F%CE%94%CE%97%CE%93%CE%9F%CE%A3%CE%A0%CE%A4%CE%A5%CE%A7%CE%99%CE%91%CE%9A%CE%97%CE%A3%CE%95%CE%A1%CE%93%CE%91%CE%A3%CE%99%CE%91%CE%A3%CE%A4%CE%91%CE%A6%CE%A0%CE%A0%CE%97-2022-23.pdf
***Corrections in the answers and throughout the text must be shown (I have instructions
on the slides for ‘Revision’). ***
PART TWO: DESIGN 300 – 500 WORDS (WITHOUT THE TEMPLATES).
In one or two pages you will describe the planning and evaluation system that
you consider best and most effective and that you would like to implement. You will also
include some standards that you find useful and appropriate for the age groups you are
targeting. The standards can be ready-made (with the correct reference) or your own (again
you should mention where you were influenced by). You will put them in the paper ‘blank’ not filled in (e.g. you will not have made observations of children). The
templates should be usable by educators (e.g., photocopying them or filling them out
electronically). There should be a clear explanation for each one, e.g. is it for a group of
children? Are they individual? Are they for each day? Is it for once a month? etc. The
templates should be for: PROGRAMMING (1-2), OBSERVATION (1-3), REPORTING – tools you
would use (1-3), EVALUATION (1-3).
1
In this part you have to show that you understand the differences in terminology, that you
can critically use some ready-made standards and perhaps formulate your own standards
based on your own pedagogical philosophy and you have to explain why you have chosen
them – what they serve
(advantages and any disadvantages). It goes without saying that an excellent paper will be
one that is correct but also original, critical and creative (higher level of Bloom’s taxonomy!).
Below is an example for the second part of the paper that you may find useful. CAUTION do not copy it, just to better understand the requirements and get ideas. You will adapt it
to your own
beliefs/philosophy.
EXAMPLE
“The programming I have designed follows the basic ideas of my philosophy and focuses on
2-3 year olds. Adopting the principles of critical and poststructuralist pedagogical philosophy,
the role of children is crucial and my particular sensitivity to diversity, rights and inclusion
must be evident.
Parent/guardian involvement should also be ongoing and active to be in line with my
philosophy. For the above reasons the model of
The planning process I list below has the following sections XXXXXXX and will be completed every
XXXXX. [if more explanations are needed, put them here]

As we can see in the above template, there are XXX to be able to XXX .
To create the above programming template I drew ideas and information from the following
sources: XXXXXXX[websites/blogs/bibliography] or
I have adapted standard XXX (source). Remark
Knowing my children very well will help me at all stages of my educational practice
(reporting) and will provide me with useful information and data to inform my planning at
each stage.
In keeping with my ideas and my pedagogical philosophy the patterns of observation
I have chosen are as follows:

I chose these templates because ……[write 2-3 reasons that seem to fit your philosophy].
Documentation
From the tools of documentation I chose the floor book (report) and a related
template as shown below. Due to the age of the children and in order to
ensure their active participation, family involvement, cooperation and to get children to
start thinking reflectively on a large A3 block with
white sheets we will collect 2-3 photos (they are the white circles on the template) from our
project and children’s comments and/or drawings with different materials. This pad will go
to the parents with a short letter explaining what I would like them to add. I would try in
some projects to have some parents join us while we are completing it and add their ‘touch’
as well.

Evaluation
The standards I chose for the assessment also relate to my pedagogical philosophy and
specifically to the value of diversity and the development of
self-esteem in children.
I would do the assessment in 2-3 year olds in groups of 2-4 children each XXX
With the standards I chose I would look at the social and emotional skills that children develop
and more specifically whether they can XXXXXXXXX

After completing each model the first time, I would also invite the children to give me their
feedback in a “feedback session”. During the session I would explain in simple terms and as
specifically as I could the positive personality traits of the child and how they could develop
them further
more by giving specific instructions.
The first standard focuses on XXX and I would apply it every XXX. [short description]

The second standard focuses on XX and I would apply it every XX [short description]

At the bottom of the templates is a box for parents or other teachers who may know the
child to fill in. There is also a box for the child’s own feedback after the feedback session we
had.
Summarizing through planning for all of the above I would have pursued XXX and had the
necessary evidence for XXX [close the second part with a summary of what you did and what
it would help you with].

C) THIRD PART: 500 – 1.000 WORDS
Here again in the first person you will talk about any changes in your philosophy, in the
planning plan and in the templates you used during or after completion of the task.
You will follow the model we will tell the class to ‘critique’ – evaluate your beliefs. The model
is DRISCOLL’s and can be found in detail in the slides of the ASSESSMENT. Each stage has
supporting questions that you can
Answer. Please note that you do NOT have to answer all of them. Two – 3
questions/answers will be enough for your own reflection
1) What: what you did in this task, description (without
interpretation), difficulties/difficulties etc.
For example
In the first part of this assignment for the course XXX I was asked to record the basic
principles of my pedagogical philosophy, as they have been formed during the XXX years
that I have been studying in the XXX department. Through the XXX questions I had to
answer I was able to XXX. The examples of philosophy from various foreign stations
provided me with XXXXX
This part of the paper made it difficult for me as far as XXXXXXX…… because XXXXXXX. I
managed to overcome the difficulties with XXXXX
The second part of the project was the design of my training. In this part I had to become
the designer of my educational practice and basically see how the concepts and beliefs of
my pedagogical philosophy can be realized through planning, observation, documentation
and evaluation. I have found it difficult because XXX
I was very interested and it was easy for me to XXXXX Finally I managed to
XXX
2) So what: interpretation of what you did, what did you learn, what changed
(if anything) in your views, what you didn’t learn so well, what would you
like to improve on? What
do you need? etc.
For example:
It was a different kind of work because I had to focus on myself and
my beliefs and not what I read in a book or an article. I had to prove to myself and my
teacher that I had certain beliefs but also to find out where I have been influenced by these
XXX years. It was a challenging exercise for me because it made me think about my whole
journey as a student and before that, as a student and as a child.
Through deep compositional thinking and feeling like I was filling in the pieces of a puzzle, my
own pedagogical puzzle, I managed to ……XXXX I became a creator ……
5
On the other hand, I realized how complex the educational practice is when
is done in an organised and careful manner. Indeed, the scientific knowledge I gained during my
studies at XXXXX helped me to XXX
But I realized that I still have things I need to learn in more depth, such as XXX I evaluated
myself and realized that while I am very good at XXX I have not yet developed skills in XXX
and these are very useful for XXX
Through this project I learned about XXX but at the same time my perspective on XXX
changed.
In the future you will need to XXX
3) Now what: what will be the next steps for you in the field of
evaluation? What ‘measures’ will you take to become better and
more effective? Why is it important to become better? Who will benefit? Only the
children? The community? The world? The education system? [you will definitely need
literature support here]. Here you will put as much as
becomes more specific solutions.
For example, in terms of the steps you will take to become better:
1) I will re-read the theory around …. And I will note those elements that will clarify it
for me…
2) I will practice more at….
3) I’m going to start working on my reflection earlier so I can….
EVALUATION CRITERIA
CRITERION

paper. All parts of the paper were adequately
answered and word limits and
relevant instructions.
The constant correction and improvement of the
work was evident.
Exploration of recent literature relevant to the topic of
the thesis and sufficient reliance on contemporary
theories and research to formulate
of pedagogical philosophy.
Critical thinking and justification of
evaluation/observation standards/
Programming.
Creating appropriate standards.
The reflection was pertinent and clear with reliance
on literature where needed.
Correct use of the bibliographic system (few or no
errors).
