Description
Social workers interact with client systems of many sizes and utilize their knowledge to promote the best interest of their client systems. They must be knowledgeable of not only how systems interface with one another, but also with how systems may need to change in order to meet the needs of its clients.
Systemic change in macro settings can involve these systems working together: initiator, change agent, client, support, controlling, host, implementing, target, and action. These systems work together to create change. This Discussion focuses on macro-level client systems and how these systems have an impact on social services.
