Description
As you think about your practicum site, you might be wondering about the concept of supervision. What is it? How is it different from having a boss at work? Well I’m glad you asked!! Most students are unsure of the difference and what to expect. Basically, supervision in your practicum should be an interactive, regularly scheduled time that you and your social work supervisor have to talk about your cases, clients, services, etc. These sessions are much more than “just another meeting.” In these sessions, you should feel like you can talk through questions you have, scenarios you encounter, as well as any feeling you have about the work you are doing. This podcast should clear up any remaining confusion you might have.
