Compare digital and video research symposia for scholarship for relevancy.
Construct the initial steps of a research plan based on your topic of focus.
Review all required resources for Week 3.
Review at least three different research symposium presentations or ePosters from past or current UAGC Research Symposia that align to a topic that interests you.

Consider touching base with your group for Weeks 4 and 5. The group members will be posted by your instructor in the announcements.
Reflect
When reviewing and developing a research plan, it is important to consider the process: research questions and hypotheses, basic qualitative and quantitative research designs, and ethical considerations (Mertler, 2020). Consider how the research of others might impact your own. How might you be able to conduct and present research at a future research symposium or conference?
This discussion will support these sections in your Capstone 1: Educational Research Proposal and Final Project in Week 6:

Initial Post
After reviewing at least three research symposium presentations or ePosters, select one to focus on and post an initial response that conforms to one of the two following options:
Option 1: A written post
Option 2: A multimedia post such as a PowerPoint with slide notes included or a video presentation with a transcript using Canvas, Zoom, or Screencast-O-Matic
Regardless of which option you choose, your post must address the following:
Represent the research study highlighted in your selected symposium presentation or ePoster, including the components of a research study:

Research Problem and Purpose
Research Questions
Participants
Procedure and Materials (Methods)
Research Design
Data Collection Plan or Type
Research Findings
Practical Implications
Note: If any sections are missing, mention specifically in your post that the researcher did not discuss that particular section.
Critique the steps of the research process you saw illustrated in the research study.
Ask an open-ended question for your colleagues to answer after reviewing your post.
Cite your sources to support your response both in-text and in a reference list using current APA format, including the researcher of the study you reviewed.
