ASSIGNMENT TASK:
Background
You have been recruited as part of a risk management team, to undertake a risk assessment for one of the companies below, evaluating whether the company is operating to their full capacity and utilising all their resources effectively.
Using relevant information (company accounts, organisational reports, press releases, news articles etc.) undertake a risk audit report based on ONE of the following companies:
üAstraZeneca Plc
üBritish Petroleum (BP)
1.Explore and investigate the risk management processes currently undertaken by your chosen company, utilising their annual reports and company accounts in your evaluation.
2.Identify and critically evaluate the impact of ONE INTERNAL and ONE EXTERNAL risk (of your choice) significantly affecting the company, categorising the risks and applying academic theories and risk models such as the Causation chain and the Risk mapping Grid.
3.Propose and evaluate appropriate risk-mitigating strategies for implementation to reduce the two risks you have identified, applying the Shell model to justify and reinforce your suggested strategies.

MARKING CRITERIA:
●The following is an indicative marking criterion for your risk audit:
●Structure/clarity of communication/flow of discussion will account for 10%.
●Your exploration and investigation into the risk management processes undertaken by your chosen company, along with supporting evidence to justify your suggestions, will equate to 15%
●Your Identification and critical evaluation of the impact of your two risks, applying academic theories and risk models will equate to 40%.
●Your justification and Implementation of appropriate risk-mitigating strategies, along with the Shell model to justify and reinforce your suggested strategies, will equate to 25%.
●References – quality and range of references (at least 20 references across different sources are expected) – The currency of the data (how recent is the data) is important. Marks for references will also be embedded with the sections above, but the extent, presentation, currency and quality of the references will account for 10%.
