SCENARIO
You recently submitted your name as a volunteer for your state’s annual Health Information Management Association Meeting and completed a member’s form. Today, Bethany, the annual committee chairperson, called you, and she noted that you are a coding supervisor at LiveWell. After asking you some questions about your job, she asked you to participate in a joint presentation on coding at the next year’s state meeting. You are honored and excited at the idea. She asks you to use your facility production data for both inpatient and emergency department coding. Bethany also indicates that the group is using several authorized resources and shares them with you. Bethany explains that each group member needs to create a handout for the participants during their presentation section.
