Choose ONE organiza�on in Canada from the hospitality sector. Your task is to create a crisis
communica�ons plan, to prepare the leadership team for how to manage and execute
communica�ons to internal and external stakeholders.
1. Organization: Provide an overview of the organization that this plan is for.
2. Identify the goal of the communication plan, the purpose and why having a plan is
important based on what has been discussed throughout the term.
3. Identify and assess two crisis scenarios specific to your organization that this crisis will
be applicable for.
4. Identify potential risks that the organization may face when dealing with a crisis
through social media and online communications.
5. List the members of the communica�ons team who will be responsible for the plan.
6. Identify the internal and external stakeholders who will be involved and impacted by the
communications plan.
7. Create a hierarchy for sharing information from senior leadership to front-line staff.

occurs? List which tools you will use, what they are and how they will be used.
9. Create communication guidelines to identify who is responsible to manage the crisis

organization if a crisis occurs. This includes what to do, who is responsible and where to
find information.
