You will take a deep dive into the research in your field by beginning to look at what questions are being studied and what paradigm is being used.
Using your preferred research method, find a scholarly journal in your field and discuss what methods were used in the research.
Your formative should include the following:
Is the method qualitative, quantitative, or mixed?
What specific methodology was used? (For example quantitative longitudinal study or qualitative ethnography)
Describe why this method was chosen for the study.

This assessment aligns with the competency for this module. Students will demonstrate their ability to dissect, review, and evaluate research articles in their field of expertise. In this assessment, you will demonstrate your research analysis knowledge by finding a peer-reviewed journal article with your preferred research approach (quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods) and discuss the method used and how it was developed within the research study.
The methods section of a research study provides insight into how the researcher viewed the research question and provides structure to the research. By examining a scholarly work, it is beneficial to see the alignment between the research approach, theresearch question, and the methods used. You will take what you found in your formative and begin aligning the study’s different aspects.Choose a new peer-reviewed journal article on your research topic and proposed methodology. You will be digging deeper into the research methodology of the article. In a 5–6-page paper, provide an explanation of the research components in the chosen article.
