Proposal Part I: The Statement of Need
The first piece of the grant proposal you will be developing for this course is the statement of need. The statement of need should provide a background and rationale for the project and establish the need and relevance for the project for which funding is needed. Your statement of need should answer the following questions:
How is your project different from previous projects or research on the same topic? (1-2 sentences)
Who is the population/target? (1-2 sentences),
What is the problem in this population/group, and what are the identified needs? (1-2 sentences)
How will this project/idea will help/improve the health of this population/group. (1 sentence)

Assignment requirements:
This portion of the proposal should be approximately one page.
Writing should follow current APA guidelines.
