If you use more than one source, you need to distinguish between the when you refer to them. It is a good idea to use a recognized reference style.
The most important thing is to be consistent. Remember, referencing can be quite simple. When you have listed your sources in the bibliography, it is often enough to simply refer to the author, year and page number in your text, like this (McGrath 2012, p. 12).
If you refer to a primary source, you write title and chapter (e.g., Bhagavadgita 6.12), or if you take the quote from a scholarly book you can refer to that book. For example, “the Upanishads say that… ” (Kessler 2008, p. 16)
