ENC 1102 Visual Argument Project

Description

Task: This project requires you to breakdown an argument primarily by creating an original visual (that you create yourself). You are to create a slideshow component to submit your visual and other required information (review outline/video posted for slide information). First, decide on a debatable topic and choose a stance (for or against). Your visual argument must be created from scratch using media of your choice. Get creative!Your visual argument can take almost any form: a painting, a drawing, a comic strip, a sculpture, a photograph, a computer-generated image or animation, a collage, an ad campaign, a video, poster, an editorial cartoon, etc.Be sure to support your claim through visual choices, such as typography, color, placement, graphics, etc. Every element in your project should have strategic reasoning behind it. Colors, brightness, fonts, shapes, and degree of clarity of the images all play a part in your argument. Pay careful attention to ALL visual aspects of the material you use and focus especially on your format and layout. Remember that you are making an argument, so you should be able to discuss your claims and reasoning in the slideshow.Remember the appeal strategies we’ve discussed in class such as ethos, pathos, and logos and try to incorporate them into your image. These elements will also be discussed in your slideshow. Before Submitting: Please make sure you include at least one slide for each of the following:1. Title Page2. Visual Argument (displays/attaches your visual)3. Overview of the Topic (includes one scholarly source)4. Stance & Claims5. Elements: Text, color, image, and spacing (one slide for each)6.
