Description
Week 4 discusses the role that peers, schools, and drugs play in delinquency. Peer pressure replaces the family as the most important influence in the lives of many teenagers. Schools also play a huge impact. It makes sense if you realize that juveniles spend close to 40 hours a week in schools. Along with peer pressure and the stress of being in school, many school-aged children are exposed to drugs. The Monitoring the Future Survey examines school children and explores the effects of peer pressure and drug use in schools. This assignment will help you develop a deeper understanding of how peers, schools, and drugs are correlated with juvenile delinquency.
